And Now – The Weekend Report, brought to you by a Rubber Chickentm
During the first weekend in May, I immersed myself in the decadence of Party Central, which I made reference to in a previous post. It began on Thursday, 3 May, 2007. A friend was having her 30th birthday (and moaning about it, which seemed a bit rich, considering I’m ten years older than her, but never mind. :p ) and earlier in the week kvetch and I had been shopping for a suitable present.
There was much debate and browsing, and much excellent schleppage by kvetch (a champion schlepper). And there were some custom t-shirts which were never going to be ready in time, and a visit to the very fine Chapters bookshop on Parnell Street in Dublin. And ultimately, it was back to Chapters, (and more schleppage) for the procurement of The Big Book Of Breasts, published by Taschen whose books are well worth a browse through.
I took kvetch in a taxi to my friend’s house. He was schlepping the book, of course. :) (oy vey, was I glad to have him there!) This book was so heavy that it needed five bags, one inside the other, to support the weight of it, and even then they nearly didn’t last the distance from the taxi to my friend’s house. It’s a big, beautiful coffee table book, and it makes sense that a book chock full of luscious bosoms would be heavier than the largest bra in the world could comfortably support. :p
Much droolworthy tapas, prepared by my friend herself, was consumed. And it was lucky that I had only recently introduced kvetch to the joys of tapas, and he-of-the-sensitive-palate enjoyed most of it, thankfully. :) And, as can only be expected by my friend (whom I will refer to hereinafter as Melon Girl), the conversation was stimulating and enjoyable. Many people who had come for the whole weekend were at the party. And when Melon Girl opened the wrapping on the book, she laughed her arse off for at least 5 minutes. I call that a result! :D
So, that was the first night.
